Outcomes Assessment
Outcomes assessment is the process of providing credible evidence of resources, implementation processes, and outcomes undertaken to improve the effectiveness of instruction, programs, and services in higher education (Banta, 2015).
PAII staff provide leadership for outcomes assessment across the IUPUI campus, the Midwestern region, the U.S., and globally through our presentations, publications, and international conferences. In this section we present our annual international conference, the Assessment Institute in Indianapolis, and our annual campus-wide assessment reports. The IUPUI Program Review and Assessment Committee requires annual reports from each campus academic and student services units and offers grants to support innovative work in outcomes assessment. Finally, we list some resources in the field, including Assessment Update, a bi-monthly periodical we edit here that has been published since 1989 by Jossey-Bass of San Francisco.
